Doctor

  • Dr. Robbin Temple


    Dr. Temple joined the BFVH staff on June 14th, 1999 and as of January 29th 2007 she is co-owner of the hospital.  She graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine on May 10th  1997 and is a proud member of the Bulldog Nation-GO DAWGS!  Dr. Temple treats dogs, cats, small mammals, exotics and wildlife. She loves surgery and client education - especially for new puppies/kittens and older pets.  Her outside interests include hiking, reading, home improvement projects, spending time with her wonderful husband, two children and extended family, riding her horse (occasionally!) and as much travel as she can fit into the year!  Dr. Temple has 2 dogs: Tucker a Pug, and Edie a Boxer, 2 cats: Fletcher & Owen, 2 African Grey Parrots: Grey & Amos.and a Draft-cross mare: Lola.

  • Tara Rittle


    Dr. Rittle is a 2003 graduate of The University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. She completed an internship in Wildlife & Conservation Medicine at Tufts University. Her interests are Internal Medicine, Exotic Medicine, Dermatology, Ultrasound, whole pet preventative medicine, and Wildlife Rehabilitation. She joined BFVH in 2008.

    Dr. Rittle has 2 cats (Dewey and Dimitri) she also has 2 Leopard Tortoises (Mortimer and Frank) and a Leopard Gecko (Bloke). Her interests outside the clinic are photography, starting projects around the house, staring at unfinished projects around the house, spending time with family and friends, and otherwise leaving the house as not to see the unfinished projects around the house.

  • Dr. Susan G Wynn , DVM, AHG


    Dr. Wynn graduated from University of Georgia in 1987 and completed an internship with Friendship Hospital in Washington D.C. in 1988. She also underwent post doctoral training in viral immunology at the Emory University School of Medicine. She is author of 3 professional texts on alternative medicine, and has a special interest in clinical nutrition, nutraceuticals and herbal medicine.  Dr. Wynn is also on the panel for our pet weight loss program "Trading Pounds for Years". 
     
    Dr. Wynn lives with a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (Cooper), a Sheltie cross (Brownie), a maine coon cat (Foster) and a real cat (Nancy).

  • Jim McClearen


    Dr. Jim McClearen opened Bells Ferry Veterinary Hospital in 1984. He graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 1974 after earning his B.S. in Agriculture in 1970. Dr. McClearen performs relief work here at the hospital as well as serves on the GVMA board, has opened a Purina feed store, and the list goes on and on. He also serves as a consultant to the managment team here at BFVH. When he is not working, he enjoys backpacking, farming, and fishing. His companion animals include a Jack Russell Terrier - Penny; 2 Chihuahuas - Ruby& Jade; 7 cats; 6 Dartmoor Ponies and 50 cows.

  • Heidi Bockhold , Life University - Chiroprator


    Dr. Heidi Bockhold joined the staff in November of 2003. She graduated from Life University in 1992. Dr. Bockhold administers chiropractic care of  horses, dogs, and cats.  
     
    Dr. Bockhold is in partnership with 1 other doctor,  together they have two schools that teach Animal Chiropractic care for large animals, one in Kansas and the other in England. There is also a school in Germany that is teaching their curriculum. She travels often to KS, England and to Germany to teach and all over the Southeast to treat horses and dogs.
     
    Her outside interests include horseback riding, and hearding with her 2 dogs Kola and Annie (Australian Cattle Dogs). Her other companion animals include Fergie (Welsh Pembroke Corgi), Dancy (Pitbull Mix), Slinky (Dachshund), 4 horses, Igo (African Grey Parrot), Cinamon (Cockatiel), and  Phoena (finch).

Door Greeter

  • Ian Lyon


    Ian has been a part of the Bells Ferry Family since he was a puppy although his role as door greeter began earlier this year. 

    His interests inside the clinic include; greeting each and every one of our clients and their pets, eating the numerous amounts of treats given to him, playing with all the children that venture through our doors, chasing his clown doll and tennis ball, roaming to the break room during lunch hour, and sleeping on and off throughout the day.

    Outside the clinic you can find Ian enjoying his retirement from Agility and Herding Competitions which he has numerous titles in.

Management

  • Mr. Trevor W Lyon , RVT


    Trevor came to work at BFVH in February of 2001. He is a member of the BFVH management team and as of January is co-owner of the hospital with Dr. Robbin Temple. He completed his education at Maple Woods Community College in Kansas City, MO in 1995. While living in Kansas, Trevor worked in numerous specialty practices and at Bayer Animal Health. After moving to Atlanta in 1999, he worked at a local private practice and at Radiocat caring for hyperthyroid cats. His main interests inside the hospital include radiology, wildlife (with an emphasis on Birds of Prey), and exotics. Trevor is on the panel for our pet weight loss program "Trading Pounds for Years".  Outside of work, he enjoys mountain biking, roller blading, fishing, and falconry. Trevor shares his home with 2 Border Collies (Emma & Ian); a Parson Russell Terrier (Radar) and a Standard Wirehaired Dachshund (Serra).

  • Mrs. Jasmine C Lyon , RVT


    Jasmine joined our team in September of 1999. She is the hospital administrator of Bells Ferry Veterinary Hospital and in February of 2003 graduated from Purdue University's Management Program as a Certified Practice Manager. Jasmine has been a technician for the past 16 years, working at several local, private and specialty practices. She received her veterinary technician license (RVT) in August, 2004. Her in house interests include wildlife and canine behavior. Jasmine's outside interests are gardening, traveling, showing dogs and competing in agility with her dog Serra (Wirehaired Dachshund). In addition she shares her home with Emma & Ian (Border Collies) and Radar (Parson Russell Terrier). Jasmine is also active in Border Collie rescue.

  • Mrs. Donna Mills


    Donna is our hospital manager and has been with us since 1985. She has been working in veterinary medicine since 1963 starting out as a receptionist. She is a very important part of the day-to-day operations of our hospital. Managing employee benefits and payroll are just a few of her responsibilities with in the clinic. Donna is very busy outside of the hospital also. She is active in her church, doing various activities including singing in the church choir. She and her husband, Harold are active with Gideon’s International on local, district, and state levels. Her favorite activities around the house are watching the birds and wildlife that come to the feeders in her back yard.

Technician

  • Mrs. Christine Turner , RVT


    Chrissy began work at BFVH in June of 2001 after having worked in other local, private practices for the last 4 1/2 years. Chrissy is recently married to Richard Turner and they are enjoying their life together in their new home in Marietta. Chrissy is starting her own business drawing pet portraits and has done some drawings of the hospital. She enjoys the responsibility of being treatment and surgery technician. She also enjoys working with exotics, radiology and blood chemistry - especially doing blood chemistries and hand counts. Chrissy received her veterinary technician license (RVT) in August, 2004. Outside of work, she enjoys drawing, going to the movies and weather watching. In the future, she would like to become a certified technician or pathologist. She has 2 cats, BC & Talon.

  • Ms. CaTrinna Chastain , RVT, CMT


    CaTrinna joined the BFVH team in September, 2001.   CaTrinna has earned her degree in Canine Massage Therapy and will be accepting appointments on Wednesdays in the clinic. While at work, she enjoys working with  dogs and cats by making their visit to the office a little less stressful. CaTrinna works with Dr. Susan Wynn & is becoming an expert in nutrition counseling.  She received her veterinary technician license in February, 2004 making her a registered veterinary technician (RVT).  Outside of work, she enjoys dancing, yoga and reading. She has two dogs named  Izzy and Clover and two cats named Sage and Magi.

  • Candice Sikora , RVT


    We welcomed Candice to our team in July of 2009. Candice has lived in the Acworth area her whole life. She has been in the veterinary field for more than 10 years and is a registered veterinary technician.

    Candice enjoys working closely with our clients caring for their pets. Candice has many interests inside the walls of Bells Ferry Veterinary Hospital, however; her passion is surgery.

    On any given day off you may find Candice reading or kickboxing. She shares her home with 4 cats and 2 dogs.

Reception

  • Mrs. Amanda Loche


    Amanda joined our team in June 2004, all the way from Missouri. She is our second 'Missourian' to be on the BFVH team...Trevor Lyon being the first.
     
    Her interests inside the clinic are ferrets, rats, snakes & wildlife of all shapes & sizes. She loves helping clients help their pets through outstanding customer service, education and communication.  Amanda is on the panel for our pet weight loss program "Trading Pounds for Years". 
     
    Her interests outside the clinic are anything that involves the outdoors and spending time with her husband! She enjoys wildlife photography and is often found with a camera in her hand.
     
    Her pets include Sammy (Cockatiel), Emmitt (Lineolated Parakeet), Bosch & Tara (Mixed breeds), Avery (Redbone coonhound mix), J. Scrappy & Smoke, & BudMan (cats), Emily (bearded Dragon), and she is excited to welcome another ferret into her family which she will call Bean.

  • Mrs. Mary Hall


    Mary began working at Bells Ferry in August, 1992. Mary was born and raised in Alaska and has traveled extensively in the United States and abroad. Mary is also a member of our management team.
     
    Avian patients are her main interest while at work. Her outside interests include swimming, water vollyeball, her numerous pets, motorcycle riding and reading. Her companion animals include 7 dogs and 5 birds - her favorite being Toolee, a cockatoo.

  • Beverly Pearcy


    Beverly has worked full and part time for Bells Ferry since August, 2001. Previously she worked in the (human) medical field as a LVN. While at work she enjoys learning new things about pet care and health, exotics and Wildlife. Beverly is on the panel for our pet weight loss program "Trading Pounds for Years".   Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family, taking care of her pets, hiking, biking, faux painting, sewing, travel and interior design. Beverly has a Golden Retriever named Kylee, a rescued bloodhound named Annie, 3 rabbits named Daisy,Ty & Pip, +8 Finches, Zaxby (Parotlette), a Guinea Pig named Kirby, and three cats named Abby, Oliver & Tori.

  • Ms. Stacy Burns


    We welcomed Stacy to our team in April of 2006.  Stacy enjoys getting to know our clients and helping clients understand the health of their pet better.  You can always find Stacy with a smile on her face any given time at work.

    On Stacy's day off you can find her in the great outdoors.  She enjoys biking, hiking, completing projects around her home, gardening, and spending time with family, friends and her pets.

    Stacy's family consists of Moose (bloodhound) Lexy (bulldog), and two cats, Muffin & Pumpkin, which give Stacy comic relief throughout her evenings.

  • Ms. Linda Calahan


    Linda joined our team in February of 2007. Her interests inside the hospital include holistic medicine, wildlife, and canine training. She has quite a talent for crafts which she uses to maintain the clinic scrapbook donated by one of our clients.
    Outside the clinic Linda enjoys hiking, scrap booking, jewelry making, gardening, and reading, and showing her dogs in conformation.
    Linda shares her home with five dogs; Topaz (Golden Retriever), Duncan (Scottie), Stella, Rumour, and Thor (Flat-Coated Retrievers), and two cats; Natasha& Tokoyami. Linda also has a horse Misty, a guinea pig Foster, and a rabbit named Wynnie Sue.

  • Mrs. Jas Nash


    We are glad to have welcomed Jas to our family in April of 2009.  Jas is actually a registered technician who has joined our receptionist team and we are grateful to have her experience up front. 

    Jas enjoys being able to help our current friendly staff of receptionists in the ways of medical knowledge.  She is a very organized and neat individual and loves coming up with new ideas to better serve our clients through education.

    Jas and her husband have just welcomed their first child this past July and are keeping pretty busy.  She shares her home with two cats, an amputee canine, and a very old cockatiel.

  • Ms. Sarah Jackson


    Sarah has been with us since September of 2007. 

    She enjoys making our kennel friends feel as loved here as they do at home. Outside of the clinic you can find Sarah singing or spending time with her new husband and her own pets.

    Sarah shares her home with Spunk & Twilight (Chihuahua), Lacey (Dachshund), Calley (cat), two Bearded Dragon, two Ball Pythons,  a Tortoise, and one Box Turtle.

  • Mrs. Traci Homewood


    We welcomed Traci to our BFVH team in April of 2009.  Traci enjoys taking care of and spending time with our four legged friends that stay with us in our boarding facility.  She is also interested in continuing her education on exotic animals such as ferrets, rats, snakes, hamsters and rabbits.

    On Traci's day off you may find her in her kitchen baking up goodies which she enjoys bringing in for her fellow staff to enjoy.  She also enjoys movies and playing with her own four legged friends.

    Traci shares her home with her terrier mix Suzie and her Dachshund Bo.

  • Danielle Adams


    Danielle joined our team in April of 2008.  She has been a professional groomer for over 12 years.  She enjoys keeping our clients dogs and cats well groomed.

    In Danielle's time away from our clinic you can find her enjoying both good music and good food.

    She shares her home with Stella (Cardigan Corgi), Bert (Australian Shepherd), Chaos & Aries (Rotweiler Puppies), and Amber (feline).

  • Ms. Laurie Burkhalter


     

    Laurie has joined our family in June of 2006. She is a fabulous addition to our team. Laurie has a huge heart, which she openly shares with the pet, client and all her coworkers. Laurie’s interest inside the clinic includes client education, ultrasound, radiology and getting to know some of the most amazing animals.

    Laurie shares her home with a troop of Shih Tzu’s. In her spare time you may find Laurie shopping, enjoying photography or shopping!

  • Trey Greenfield


    We are happy to welcome Trey to our family this July.

    Trey's interests in the clinic include all aspects of surgery and cardiology. He enjoys working with our exotic animals which include reptiles, rabbits, ferrets, rats, guinea pigs, and gerbils.

    On any given day Trey is not enjoying our furry and scaly friends you can find him reading comics or listenining to music. He shares his home with three feline friends: Cash, Domino, and Sabretooth.
